Nadezhda Misyakova is a young Belarussian singer and poet. She had her 1st book of poetry, in Russian, published in 2012 and has been studying singing since she was 8 years old, having studied under the mother of the 1st Belarusian winner of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest (JESC). She represented Belarus in the 2014 JESC with her song Sokal (Falcon).
Sokal (Falcon) is the song that Nadezhda sang at JESC. It is about the Slavic fairytale, The Feather of Finist the Falcon, about a young girl who finds a falcon that turns into a handsome prince and then she goes on a quest to find him. [you can read a version of the fairytale here]. It is performed in a folk style and uses a gudy, a traditional instrument of Belarus. This is the version that Nadezhda performed at JESC.
