Time for some comedy
Weird Al Yankovic is a comic songwriter and singer from the USA. He is best known for his parodies of popular songs. His career started in 1976 when Californian radio personality, Dr. Demento played a homemade tape of Al's original song Belvedere Cruisin' on his radio show. This lead to more radio appearances and to his first commercial release in 1979 and has had hit records in every decade since then.
Jackson Park Express was originally released on the 2014 album Mandatory Fun. It is about a bus trip where the singer has an imaginary love affair with another passenger, without either saying a word, and the affair ends before the trip ends. It is a parody of the style of Cat Stevens. It is a long narrative song where every look and action is interpreted in a highly imaginative way with the conversation getting stranger and stranger, but not in a creepy way (as we are assured). The video was recorded live at the Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado, USA. and, along with his usual band, Al is accompanied by the Colorado Symphony orchestra.
