After the Gold Rush was originally released by Neil Young on the 1970 album After the Gold Rush. It is about a dream in three scenes, the first using medieval imagery, the 2nd lying in a basement looking at the sky, and the last using science fiction imagery about an escape to live on the sun. It is a classic late ’60s folk song with a strong environmentalist sentiment. This is a wonderful rendition from Haze Moon that uses only an acoustic guitar for accompaniment that adds to the dream imagery of the lyrics.
