Ainsley and Alyssa are 2 singing sisters from Canada. They have been singing since they were very young and have recently started learning to play other instruments.
Hallelujah was originally recorded by Leonard Cohen on his 1984 album Various Positions. Cohen recorded 2 different versions of the song, a studio version in 1984 and a live version in 1994, with only the final verse common to both versions, most performances, including Cohen, use verses taken from both versions. This is a slower, more reverential version of the song that uses all 7 verses from Cohen‘s recorded performances, the girls firstly sing the original 1984 version in it’s entirety followed by the later version, omitting the common verse having already sung it. The girls take turns at singing solo through the verses, the clear highlight being Jadyn singing the verse that starts There was a time you let me know, the final word will send chills down your spine, and listen for the subtly beautiful harmonies on the hallelujahs. The video clip has a distinct Christmas feel and two absolutely beautiful co-stars who don’t sing.
