And a second song for today. After learning what this song is about I had to include it as soon as possible but I couldn’t think of another song to replace so I have added it as the second song in a day that I have another Armenian song.
Lidushik (Lida Arakelyan) is a young Armenia singer. She was a member of Arevik, the children's and youth ensemble of the Armenian Public Radio, from 2002 until 2010, but was not a part of the group that represented Armenia in the 2007 Junior Eurovision Song Contest (JESC) as she was too young to compete. In 2011 Lidushik competed in the Junior New Wave and won the special prize from Rai Uno TV. She has performed in many European countries, both East and West, and in the USA.
Havata [Believe] is the new song from Lidushik. It is about being strong and standing up for what you believe and, specifically, about the recent Velvet Revolution that peacefully changed a government in Armenia. It is an patriotic song with a strong Armenian flavour that celebrates the Armenian spirit that drove a peaceful revolution. The video is made from Lidushik‘s personal videos of the time she spent in Republic Square, Yerevan, participating in the protests from the start, Lidushik can also been seen singing and dancing, which was a particular characteristic of this revolution.
You can follow Lidushik on her Website, on Facebook, on Twitter, on Instagram and on her YouTube Channel. You can buy her music on iTunes.
