Time for some comedy.
Malinda Kathleen Reese is an actress, singer and dancer from the USA. She started her YouTube channel in 2010 but it didn't take off until 4 years later when she took the lyrics of Let It Snow, from the Disney film Frozen, put them in Google Translate and have it translate the lyrics from one language to another, using the previous translation as the source of the next one, and finally back into English. She then sang the resultant lyrics to the original tune and backing. This video then went viral and started the hilarious series Google Translate Sings where she inflicts the same treatment to other well known songs.
God Help the Outcasts was originally released as part of the soundtrack for the 1996 Disney movie The Hunchback of Notre Dame where it was sung by Heidi Mollenhauer in the film with another version by Bette Midler also being included on the soundtrack CD. The original version was sung by the character Esmeralda where she ask God to look kindly on her people, the Roma, and others who are poor or outcast, and to help them. However this version seems to have a very different message after Google Translate has mangled it, answering the question Who is God? as bread, cake active cocoa.
And here is Malinda singing the original words of the song. This is a more reverential version of the song. It is a beautiful rendition of the song that is very moving. It starts with church bells chiming, followed by an a cappella version of the first section that uses echo to great effect. Having grabbed your attention you are then held enthralled when the piano, and other instruments, join in building in intensity until it ends with a beautiful long note on the last word.
