Maryana Mostovyak is a young Russian singer. She first came to public attention on the 3rd season of the Russian version of The Voice Kids in 2016, where she was one of the few contestants to be selected by all 3 judges during the blind audition round, one week after her older sister, Alexandra, had also made it through the blind auditions but Maryana chose to compete on a different team to her sister.
Proud Mary was originally recorded by Creedence Clearwater Revival in 1969 as a single and was also included on their album Bayou Country. It tells the story of an itinerant worker who finds the ideal life working on a paddle steamer on the river. This is an incredible version, starting with a slow rock beat with Jazzy vocal lines for the first iteration of the chorus, then the beat kicks up a notch and the sisters show that they are just as capable of rocking it with the best of them. Both girls give a flawless vocal performance which also performing very energetic dance moves, with Maryana a little more exuberant than Alexandra though both girls show incredible breath control. This clip is from a performance that the sisters gave on 2 February, 2018 for the Volshebnaya Sila Golubogo Potoka – Mosgaz Zazhigaet Zvezdy [Magic Power of the Blue Stream – Mosgaz Lights the Stars] international festival in the Teatr Hadezhdy Babkinoy Russkaya Pesnya [Theater of Hope Babkina Russian Song]
