The Machine is the latest video from Motion Device. It is about being lost in a desolate wasteland, searching for a way to fit in, finding constructions that constantly change and feel strange. It is the second track from their Wide Awake double album, starting with a softer theme for the first verse, then hits with a change to a heavier theme for the chorus, returning to a heavier version of the original theme for the next verse and repeating the pattern. Over the top of this is Sara‘s precise rock vocals painting the images in your mind that tell the song’s story. The video conveys a parallel message with images echoing the lyrics, with Sara‘s disembodied face superimposed over the video for most of the clip. This is the 3rd video from the Wide Awake album and, if they produce similar videos for all of the songs, edit them together as a seamless whole then it will be a landmark progression in the genre of rock movies.
