Time for some comedy.
Billy Connolly is a Scottish comedian, actor, singer and musician. He started his career in the late 1960s in the folk group, The Humblebums, with singer-songwriter Gerry Rafferty, recording 3 albums together. After The Humblebums broke up in 1971, Billy returned to the folk scene where his humorous introductions to the songs got longer and longer until there was no room in his shows for the music. He achieved success with comedy records that were recorded live and a few parody singles. He has also appeared in several movies and TV shows.
In The Brownies was originally released as a single in 1979. It is a parody of the 1979 single by the Village People single In The Navy. The parody version is sang as a recruitment song encouraging young men to join the Brownies, an organisation similar to the Boy Scouts but aimed at girls who are too young to join the Girl Guides, and is filled with gay innuendo poking fun at the original song and at gay stereotypes.
