It’s A Man’s Man’s Man’s World was originally recorded by James Brown on his 1966 album It’s A Man’s Man’s Man’s World and as a single. It is about man’s achievements and how useless they would be without women and girls. This is an incredible version sung by Sonia Philippova who really pulls out the stops in this powerful rendition that holds its own amongst the greatest performances of this song. Sonia really belts out the song with excellent phrasing and expression, covering the full range of the song with ease and finishes with an incredible note that really blows you away: that note is E above high C and is beyond the usual range of adult Sopranos and close to the highest notes written for voice in opera which is an achievement for any fully developed singer but is incredibly amazing when you realise that Sonia is only 9 years old.
