The Sound of Silence was originally released by Simon & Garfunkel on their 1964 album Wednesday Morning, 3 A.M. and a remixed version was released as a single the following year. It tells of a vision about the problems of society: of isolation; of people going through the motions of conversation but with no communication; of the worship of consumerism;, and proposes that the answer lies within the simple wisdom of the disenfranchised. This is an acoustic, classical, flamenco style guitar solo version, arranged by Thomas of the song that uses various different techniques to accompany the melody that provides a coherent whole that is a delight to listen to.
You can follow Thomas on his Website, on Facebook, of Twitter and on his YouTube channel. You can buy his music on iTunes. You can learn to play the guitar with lessons from Thomas, and play a song after the first lesson, at king of the Strings.
