Dear You was first released on the 2017 album I Hope You Don’t Mind Me Writing and as a single. It tells the story of trying to contact someone you knew in school but haven’t seen in a while through a series of letters and, after none of the letters have been answered, a phone call to the old friend’s parents where you find that your old friend committed suicide. It explores the dark side of psychological problems in a sympathetic manner and strongly makes its point. Lucy sings the chorus with a beautiful melody and gives the verses in dialect that is moving, spanning the appropriate emotions from curiosity about an old friend, through loneliness and frustration to the sudden shock at the ending.
