As Christmas Day falls on a Sunday this year I am also including a humorous Christmas song today as as additional song for the day, and while this is a serious performance of the song the video clip is quite funny.
Danielle LoPresti is a singer, songwriter, musician, actor, model, and activist that is based in the USA. She started her music career in 1991, after graduating from the United States International University in San Diego, California, USA. Her recording career didn't take off until 2000 when she started her own indie record label after, finally, being told by the major labels that her lyric content was too risky for them to release. She has since become a well respected indie artist. She is also the co-founder and producer of the San Diego IndieFest.
I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus was originally recorded by Jimmy Boyd in 1952 when it immediately became a hit and has become a popular Christmas song. It tell the story of a young child who creeps downstairs during the night before Christmas and finds Mommy Kissing Santa Claus. This version came about when Danielle and her spouse, Alicia Champion, had trouble finding videos that reflected their family situation so, rather than just complain about the lack of representation, they decided to help to improve the situation by producing this delightful video using their real-life son., Xander Lucian. The scene where Xander catches Mommy Kissing Santa Claus, and we find out that Santa Claus is also Mommy is great comedy.
