Wipe Out was originally recorded by The Surfaris as the B-side to their 1963 single Surfer Joe. Although the tune was composed on the spot as a throw-away piece to put on the B-side of their new single it has become the quintessential surfer tune bringing instant thoughts of sun, sea, surfing, and spectacular wipe outs (falling off the surf board). Sina performs this version with Mike Wilbury playing the famous guitar part and, while it omits the iconic cry of Wipe Out at the start you soon forget that as soon as Sina starts playing the distinctive drum part, not only is it incredible to listen to but it is also amazing to watch her hands, arms, and feet hitting out the frantic, yet perfectly co-ordinated, beat but she doesn’t appear to be concentrating on keeping everything in time.
