Time for some comedy.
Billy Connolly is a Scottish comedian, actor, singer and musician. He started his career in the late 1960s in the folk group, The Humblebums, with singer-songwriter Gerry Rafferty, recording 3 albums together. After The Humblebums broke up in 1971, Billy returned to the folk scene where his humorous introductions to the songs got longer and longer until there was no room in his shows for the music. He achieved success with comedy records that were recorded live and a few parody singles. He has also appeared in several movies and TV shows.
I Hate Xmas was originally performed on the 1980 Christmas Special episode of Worzel Gummidge, a British TV series about a scarecrow that comes to life and gets involved in all sorts of trouble. In the Christmas Special, Worzel meets a Scottish piper scarecrow (played by Billy Connolly) who is traveling back to Scotland for Hogmanay (New Year’s Eve) and sings this song before continuing his journey. The clip only contains the song.
You can follow Billy on his Official Website, on Facebook, and on Twitter. You can buy his recordings on iTunes as The Humblebums, The New Humblebums, and as Billy Connolly.
