Denai Moore – No Light

Denai Moore is a Jamaican born singer / songwriter who is now based in the United Kingdom. She has a soulfully haunting voice that she usually accompanies with piano and folk guitars. She has been making music since she was very young but that has all been private until she recently burst into the public as a fully fledged talent. It will be interesting to see how she develops as a performer as she is starting from such a high place.

 

No Light is the latest single from Denai, and is available free when you pre-order her new album, Elsewhere. It is a moody soul track that starts out as an intimate performance of voice and acoustic guitar then, about half way through, Denai’s voice powers over a full band and then the song ends where it began, with just a voice and guitar. This video was recorded live at  the Mermaid Theatre in Blackfriars. If you ever get the chance to see this woman perform live then do what it takes because this song alone is worth whatever effort you exert, not to mention the other great songs that she performs.
