Time for some comedy.
Greg Champion is an Australian country/folk singer, songwriter, comedian and radio personality. He has been a member of the Coodabeen Champions ["Could have been champions" said with an Australian accent], a comedy-sports show heard nationally on ABC local radio. He has written hundreds of songs, both serious and humorous, many involving parodies of popular songs turning them into songs about Australian sport, mostly Aussie Rules football.
The French Song was originally performed on the Coodabeen Champions radio show and has proved to be one of the most popular of Greg‘s songs. While the song is sung (almost) entirely in French its humour is probably best appreciated by those who don’t understand the language as it consists of a list of English words of French origin and a few names of French celebrities, all sung with a fake French accent to the tune of Edith Piaf‘s La Vie en Rose.
